Beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, the Dining Hall will utilize a cashless point of sale system. This means, students will use their student ID as their lunch card, which can be pre-loaded using MyKidsSpending. While debit/credit card payments will also be accepted, utilizing MyKidsSpending and their student ID is recommended. Please see the comparison chart below for more information on each payment option.
The MyKidsSpending App (mykidsspending.com) allows you to conveniently check your student's spending account balance at Bishop Kelley, add funds, and check your student's spending/deposit history.
Yes, students will be able to use their credit/debit cards, but it is to your advantage to use the MyKidsSpending system. If your student uses a credit or debit card at the register, you will be charged a 4% surcharge and checkout takes a bit more time than the streamlined MyKidsSpending. If you pre-load your student's MyKidsSpending account from your credit or debit card, the 4% fee will not be charged to you.
Students will be using the barcode on their Bishop Kelley Student ID to pay for Dining Hall purchases. The process is super quick, using the ID the students already carry. As the ID has the student's photo on it, we do not anticipate it being able to be easily used by anyone else. If the student for some reason does not have their ID, the cashier can look them up by name. A photo will appear on the account to verify their identity.
