Retreats at Bishop Kelley

Bishop Kelley exists to pass on the Catholic faith to the next generation.  Every school year, students are invited to participate in overnight retreats with their classmates. Student retreats are a wonderful opportunity for students to learn more about our faith, practice prayer, and grow in community. Scholarships for BK retreats are available.

Kairos (Senior Retreat)

• The word “Kairos” means “Lord's Time.” In our busy and noisy society, Kairos gives these young men and women a chance to meet God in silence. It is a prayerful and reflective time where students are able to get away from their normal cares in order to learn how to hear the voice of God in their lives and discern God's movements. Retreatants are led to a deeper experience with Christ, through prayer, liturgies, talks, and discussions. This retreat has been known to be one of the most memorable and powerful experiences BK students have in their four years. It has been a way for students to deepen their faith, grow in the confidence that they are indeed loved, and solidify their bonds of fraternity.

Search (Junior and Senior Retreat)

• Search is a peer led retreat, revolving around talks given by the student leaders. Our objective is to provide a safe and open atmosphere for students to explore their faith with other persons their age. The friends a candidate makes on this retreat become a part of their faith community.

Sophomore Boys and Girls Retreats

• Sophomores may attend this one night retreat in the fall led by a team of BK juniors and seniors. Students will listen to talks, participate in small group discussions and activities, engage in prayer/reflection, and celebrate Mass together. The experience is intended to give students a chance to get away from the hectic pace of life, reflect on their faith, get to know many new classmates, and grow in faith and friendship.

Freshman Boys and Girls Retreats 

• Freshman may attend a one night retreat in the spring led by a group of BK juniors and seniors. The retreat focuses on helping students integrate their relationship with Jesus into every aspect of their high school lives.
