A Letter From the World Languages Department Chair

Welcome to the World Languages page!

Thank you so much for taking the time to learn about the World Languages Department. Our department offers Latin, French and Spanish courses. Students will learn to communicate in the language as well as to appreciate the history, culture, and customs of various countries.

A minimum of two years of the same language is highly recommended and most students begin their language study in their freshman year, while others may start in their sophomore or junior year. All of our language classes offer AP level for students to be able to earn college credits. Our level 3, 4, and 5/AP classes are considered honors level.

Students who have studied a modern or classical world language in middle school can take a test for placement in the second level of that language. Feel free to contact me at magabel@bishopkelley.org with any questions you may have about our program!
