Resources for Teenage Drivers

October 18-24, 2015 BK is observing National Teen Driver Safety Week by providing parents and students with important information regarding teenage drivers and the precautions they need to take to remain safe at the wheel. Please take some time to review these resources and discuss the importance of safe and conscientious driving with your son or daughter.

  • Safety Tips for Teenage Drivers - It's a fact: teenage drivers account for more auto accidents than any other age group. Whether your student is just getting ready to hit the road or has been driving for months ― or even years ― take some time to review these 8 safe driving tips with him or her.
  • Fact Sheet / Talking Points about the “5 to Drive” - The “5 to Drive” campaign highlights the five necessary rules that teen drivers need to follow to stay safe behind the wheel. These rules address the greatest dangers for teen drivers: alcohol, texting, seat belts, speeding, and extra passengers.
  • Safe Kids Survey on Teen Driving - What if there was a disease that claimed the lives of 2,400 teens each year?  A disease that was the leading killer of teenagers, that didn’t distinguish between income or race, and could devastate any family? What if that disease could be prevented through available, inexpensive behavior changes?
