Boys Swimming Wins 1st Ever State Title

The boys swimming team took home the 2019 5A state title, the first ever swim championship in Bishop Kelley history.

The Comets earned 407 points at the state meet, leading the 2nd place Altus team by over a hundred points.

"It felt so good [to win]," said Head Coach Ellen Glasgow. "I am really proud of our swimmers. They were very motivated to make up for last year."

This was a redemption year for the Comets, who lost state in 2018 by only two points to Booker T. Washington. "We were pretty sad to get second," said swimmer Blake Bowden. "If any swimmer had placed one spot higher, we might have won. It was truly amazing to win, probably the best feeling I've ever had."
