Ten Students in Class of 2019 Recognized by National Merit

The National Merit Scholarship Program has recognized ten Bishop Kelley students in the Class of 2019. 
 
 Six students were recognized as Semifinalists:
 
Andrew Black, who attended middle school at School of St. Mary;
Graham Chapple, who attended middle school at St. Joseph and All Saints;
Kelsey Griffin, who attended middle school at School of St. Mary;
William Kobos, who attended middle school at Holland Hall;
Edward Liecthi, who attended middle school at St. Pius X;
Celeste McAtee, who attended middle school at Sts. Peter and Paul.
 
Four other students were recognized as Commended Scholars:
 
Michael Hanisch, who attended middle school at School of St. Mary;
Reece Harrel, who attended middle school at Marquette;
Luke Lewis, who attended middle school at Owasso;
And Sarah Walter, who attended middle school at All Saints.
 
 
Approximately 1.5 million Juniors take the PSAT/NMSQT every year. The top 3.3% are recognized as Commended Scholars, while only the top 1.25% qualify as Semifinalists. Bishop Kelley has had 75 Semifinalists in the last decade.
