When a parent asked why he had given her son an "F" in the class, Brother Bernardine answered, "Because it is the lowest grade I was allowed to give!"

"Madam, if you say you are going to be here at 11 a.m. and you are not here, then you are telling me I am not the most important thing to you at 11 a.m." This cured me of procrastination and lateness.

While we worked outside on the grounds: "Down time is no time."

When I told him I had learned from the test, but I just did not score well, he said, "Madam, if you received an 'A' in boiling water, would you be happy?"
