2016-17 Annual Fund Generates Highest Amount Ever

Supporters to BK’s Annual Fund known as Believe in Kelley (BiK) contributed more dollars to the fund during the just-ended school year than ever before. Generating $455,200, the 2016-17 (BiK) was just 9% short of its $500,000 goal.  A total of $455,200 was gifted and received by midnight, June 30th. We continued to receive gifts the first week of July; those gifts will provide a strong start to the 2017-18 Annual Fund.

Approximately 620 current parents, alumni, alumni parents, grandparents, faculty, and other friends of BK gave to the ’16-’17 annual fund for the benefit of the school’s more than 900 students enrolled for the upcoming school year. Individual gifts ranged from $25 to $10,000.

Tuition income covers the cost of operating the school; however, tuition does not cover the cost of special projects that are provided only by the generosity of donors to projects such as the school’s annual fund or construction projects. The funds from the 2016-17 BiK annual fund will provide Furniture (for the Student Commons and cafeteria, Frequency (new school-wide sound system and four individual sound systems [gyms, chapel, and cafeteria]), and Financial Aid to allow more families to send their students to BKHS.

The 2017-18 Annual Fund got underway July 1st.  Once again, the goal will be $500,000.  The project(s) to be accomplished with gifts to the new annual fund will be announced in the coming weeks. Please know that the students, faculty and staff at BKHS are very much indebted to all benefactors who give of their hard-earned resources in order to make life better for everyone at Bishop Kelley High School.
