Bishop Kelley’s New Principal Has Arrived

Jim Franz has relocated to Tulsa, and has officially begun his position as principal of Bishop Kelley High School.

Formerly the principal at Bishop Thomas K. Gorman Catholic High School in Tyler, TX for 19 years, Franz was named to his new position at a press conference in April. Faculty, students, the media and the BK community were present to welcome this new addition to our school. Bishop David Konderla said of Franz’s hiring, “May God bless him as he ministers among us.”

“I’m excited that we were able to attract an administrator of Jim’s caliber,” Father O’Brien said. “While BK academics are already strong, Jim will assist our faculty in helping our students to experience even greater spiritual growth and academic success. We must never rest on our laurels and Jim will challenge us to improve.”

Jim Franz’s first day in the office was Monday, July 3rd. Nevertheless, he has already connected with many students and faculty and feels welcome into the Bishop Kelley community. “The staff, students, parents, guardians and alumni have demonstrated well the gospel spirit of love and hospitality,” Franz said.

With the new school year underway, the teachers of Bishop Kelley are happy to guide their students alongside Franz. “We are especially ready to welcome the Class of 2018 as the leaders of the school, and the Class of 2021 as the newest additions to our school community,” Franz said. “May God bless the waning days of summer. Go Comets!"
